Indian pugilists Jasmin Lamboria and Meenakshi Hooda won gold medals at the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool. In the 57kg category, Jasmin defeated the sitting silver Olympic medalist from Paris. This victory marks a significant achievement for the 24-year-old from Bhivani, who previously secured a bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and gold at the World Boxing Cup in June 2025. Her coach expressed complete confidence in her win, stating, "I was 100% sure that she will easily defeat the silver medalist." Meenakshi Hooda also made history on her debut, winning gold in the 48kg category. Both boxers hail from Haryana; Jasmin is the first sportswoman from her family of wrestlers and boxers, and Meenakshi, the daughter of a rickshaw driver, is the first athlete in her family. #indianboxing #womensboxing #worldboxingchampionship #jasminlamboria #meenakshihooda #goldmedal #teamindia #boxing #haryana #girlpower #punchlikeagirl #liverpool #indiansports #makingindiaproud #pugilist
