In the aftermath of ADGP Vaipuran Singh’s suicide, the Haryana government is considering sending current DGP Shatrujit Kapoor on leave. A new officiating DGP is expected to be appointed, and SP Rohtak Narendra Vijarnia, named in a complaint by the ADGP’s wife, will also be transferred. The complaint by Amit Kaur alleges the suicide was forced by pressure over transfers, stating there was "so much pressure created as far as transfers regarding areas… that this actually forced him to commit suicide." This action comes as the government tries to manage the escalating controversy, which also involves a corruption allegation against the deceased officer’s gunman, Sushil Kumar.
