The Haryana unit of the Congress party is facing a rebellion after denying tickets to several strong leaders. At least 10 leaders have quit the party in recent days. Among those denied tickets are activist Shweta Dhull and former MLA Lalit Nagar, both of whom have expressed their disappointment publicly. Dhull was denied a ticket she was hoping to contest from the Kalayat seat, while Nagar was in tears after being denied a ticket for the Tigaon seat. Both have decided to contest as independent candidates. The question now is whether this will cut into the Congress vote bank in these states.
