Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that airfares on the Guwahati–Howrah route usually cost ₹6,000–₹8,000, and sometimes go up to ₹10,000. In comparison, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be much cheaper. The 3AC fare will be about ₹2,300 including food, the 2AC fare around ₹3,000, and the First AC fare about ₹3,600, making long-distance travel more affordable.
