Kuldeep Thakur, a private company owner, was driving on the wrong side of the road in Gurugram, a Haryana suburb of Delhi, when he hit and killed a motorcyclist named Akshat Garg. Thakur’s SUV had a BJP sticker, and he was granted bail within minutes of his arrest. The bail was granted at the discretion of the station house officer, not a court. Thakur did not have a license at the time of the incident.
