Long queues have been reported at petrol pumps across Gujarat, including in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, and Gandhinagar, following panic buying triggered by rumours on social media about fuel shortages. Petrol pump owners have reorganised queues to manage the rush, with customers waiting 5-10 minutes to refuel. The Gujarat government has stated there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or any fuel in the state, and reassured the public that all situations are being monitored through review meetings held every two days. Authorities have appealed to people to stay away from rumours spread on social media and assured that fuel supply to petrol pump owners will continue without interruption. Customers are currently able to refuel their vehicles without major issues despite the waiting time.
