A bridge collapse in Gujarat has led to a major incident where vehicles have fallen into the Mahisagar River. The Gambhira Bridge, which connected Vadodara to Anand, has collapsed, triggering rescue operations. The 43-year-old bridge was a crucial link in Central Gujarat. Eyewitness accounts suggest that at least five vehicles, including trucks and an auto-rickshaw, plunged into the river when the bridge gave way around 8:30 AM. Local authorities, including the Vadodara Collector, have reached the spot. Initial reports indicate that while five to six people have been rescued, the condition of two individuals is reported to be critical. The collapse comes amid ongoing rains in various parts of Gujarat, with the state having received about 45% of its average seasonal rainfall.
