Actor George Clooney, a major Hollywood fundraiser for Democrats, urged Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 US presidential race. In a damning op-ed in the New York Times, Clooney, who recently co-hosted a star-studded fundraiser for Biden, said the 81-year-old was no longer the same person who won the White House in 2020.
Citing Biden’s insipid performance in the recent presidential debate with Republican nominee Donald Trump, Clooney said, "It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010."
"He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020," Clooney wrote in the New York Times.
