Tuesday marked one of the toughest days in the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and the Israeli Defense Forces since the war began on 2 March. South Lebanon has been completely cut off from the rest of the country after the IDF destroyed every bridge on the Latani River and major highways. On Tuesday alone, six additional small bridges were blasted by the IDF on the Latani and Zardani rivers. Evacuation orders were issued for the entire population of Tyre, a major city in South Lebanon, which now stands isolated. IDF airstrikes on Tuesday afternoon brought down multiple buildings, with the IDF alleging these structures belonged to Hezbollah and were being used as operational bases. Ground invasion operations by the IDF have commenced in South Lebanon, with reports of ongoing battles between Hezbollah and Israeli forces. Both sides are claiming success in the ground operations.
