A key point of contention is a provision that could lead to the removal of a Chief Minister or Minister from their post merely upon arrest or detention, rather than after a conviction. Opposing the bills, Asaduddin Owaisi stated, "This is the 1933 Gestapo movement, when Gestapo was formed in Germany. This Government is hell-bent on creating a police state." The Home Minister indicated the bills would be sent to a Joint Committee for further review.
