The Central Consumer Protection Authority has given Uber 15 days to explain its new pre-ride tip feature for faster service. The Consumer Affairs Minister has called the practice ‘deeply concerning, unethical and exploitative’. Other cab aggregators like Ola and Rapido are also under scrutiny for similar practices. The authority views this as manipulating consumer choice and an unfair trade practice.
