A senior government official addressed concerns over LPG supply amid increased bookings following uncertainties in the Strait of Hormuz. The official stated that ‘किसी भी 25 हज़ार distributors में कहीं कोई dry out report नहीं हुआ है’ (no dry out has been reported at any of the 25,000 distributors). While average daily bookings stand at 50-55 lakh, they have surged to 75-76 lakh in recent days. The government has taken action against black marketing and hoarding, with Chief Ministers of UP and Rajasthan reviewing supply situations. Control rooms have been opened in multiple states including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Kerala, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. Call centre capacity has been expanded to 400 seats and 650 telephone lines. Citizens are urged to avoid panic buying and rely on online booking systems.
