The bill also categorises work into water security, infrastructure, and livelihood support while excluding peak agricultural seasons. The Centre reportedly plans to fund 95,000 crore rupees annually under the new centrally sponsored scheme. Opposition members have criticised the move, alleging an attempt to erase Mahatma Gandhi’s name from the law.
