Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that the government is supporting over 16 lakh cattle to protect farmers’ crops. He explained three major schemes:
1. Cow Shelter Scheme – The government gives ₹1500 per cow every month for care.
2. Sahbhagita Scheme – Farmers who take care of 4 cows get ₹6000 every month.
3. Nutrition Scheme – Malnourished mothers and families are given cows to care for and receive ₹1500 per month.
He said these programs are helping families earn money, improve nutrition, and support farmers. He also mentioned that under the Govardhan Yojana, cow dung is being used to make biogas and ethanol, giving farmers extra income.
On Govardhan Puja, Yogi said the festival reflects India’s agricultural roots and cow-based economy. He called cows the foundation of India’s prosperity.
