In a horrific tragedy, at least 25 people lost their lives after a massive fire engulfed the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub in Goa’s Arpora. Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, who visited the site, confirmed the casualties and ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. Speaking to India Today, CM Sawant stated, ‘Henceforth, we will not allow any nightclub or such places to run without a fire NOC.’ The fire, suspected to be caused by a cylinder blast, trapped victims due to a lack of ventilation and escape routes. The police have arrested the general manager and booked the owner for culpable homicide.
