In a major development in the Goa nightclub fire tragedy that claimed 25 lives, Delhi’s Rohini Court has granted a 36-hour transit remand for co-owner Ajay Gupta. Speaking exclusively to India Today, Gupta claimed, ‘I was a mere sleeping partner and had no role,’ distancing himself from the operational lapses at Birch by Romeo Lane. Meanwhile, an Interpol Blue Corner Notice has been issued against the primary owners, Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, who have fled to Thailand. The Goa Police, having secured Gupta’s custody, are set to transport him to Goa for further interrogation regarding the illegal operations and safety violations.
