GD Bakshi: US Missiles to Pakistan Threaten India’s Security | India Today News

In Gurugram, Haryana, retired Major General GD Bakshi spoke about reports of Pakistan receiving advanced US air-to-air missiles (AIM-120 C) for its F-16 jets. He said Pakistan used these beyond-visual-range (BVR) missiles in a clash with India’s MiG-21, where Wing Commander Abhinandan earned the Vir Chakra. Back then, India lacked BVR missiles and used outdated close-combat tactics, leading to losses. Now, India has effective BVR missiles and Akash 1, 2, and 3 systems with a 300-400 km range. Bakshi warned that the US supplying missiles to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, who might share them with Pakistan during conflict, suggests the US could be turning against India. He urged caution.
