Ganesh Chaturthi: Mumbai Features Ganpati as Lord Ram, Ayodhya Temple Recreated | India Today

The 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival has begun, with celebrations taking place across India. In Mumbai, the festivities are marked by unique themes, particularly in the Parel area, where one mandal has an idol of Ganpati in the form of Lord Ram. A large replica of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has also been constructed, bringing a piece of Ayodhya to the Mumbaikars. An organiser said, “Ye time hum log ne bhagwan ke roop Mein ram Bhagwan ram ko yahaan pe hum log ne Ki hai.” To manage the large crowds expected over the ten days, especially around prominent pandals like Lalbaghcha Raja, significant security measures are in place. These include a large police presence, barricading to prevent stampedes, and traffic diversions to ensure smooth commute for residents. #ganeshchaturthi #ganpatibappamorya #mumbai #maharashtra #festival #lordram #ayodhya #rammandir #ganeshutsav #parel #lalbagh #ganpatifestival #hindufestival #indianfestival #mumbaipolice
