Gandhinagar, Gujarat witnessed a severe stone-pelting incident in Bahiyal, Dehgaon, stemming from clashes between two groups over a social media post. The altercation, which occurred during a Garba event, led to a stampede and significant vandalism. Mobs reportedly damaged over eight vehicles, vandalized a shop shutter, and subsequently set it on fire. A large police contingent has been deployed to bring the volatile situation under control. According to reporter Brijesh Doshi, the provocative social media post, made by a young local boy, targeted "trends going on the Isle of Mohammed." The police are actively identifying those responsible for the stone pelting and arson, appealing to the public to refrain from posting derogatory content that could incite further unrest. FIRs are being registered, with 50 to 60 individuals expected to be apprehended.
