Fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi has been arrested in Belgium. India is seeking his extradition for his alleged involvement in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam worth 13,000 crore rupees. Choksi, who had fled to Antigua and surrendered his Indian citizenship, was arrested based on non-bailable warrants issued by Mumbai courts. The Indian government is exploring options for his swift return, possibly through deportation rather than extradition.
