Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla received a grand welcome in his hometown of Lucknow. Following his return from a mission of over two weeks at the International Space Station, a homecoming parade was held in the city. Accompanied by his family, Shukla was greeted by large numbers of students waving the Indian flag. He was received at the airport by Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Patak. During his two-day stay, Shukla is scheduled to meet with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, having already met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For security reasons, he will be staying in a government guest house and will not visit his personal residence, though he can meet his family members.
