In a significant push towards preventive healthcare for adolescents, the government is preparing to roll out a nationwide HPV vaccination programme targeting girls aged 14 years and above, according to official sources. The initiative is expected to provide the Gardasil vaccine free of cost, aiming to reduce the long-term burden of cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases in India.
