Landslides have blocked the highway at multiple locations, while long stretches of road have been washed away. This closure has stranded tourists and locals, with airfares skyrocketing to 14-15,000 rupees for a 25-minute Srinagar-Jammu flight. The non-functional railway line between Kashmir and Jammu, despite being complete, has added to the public’s frustration.
