The first batch of pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra has been flagged off from Jammu’s Yatri Niwas Bhawan. The yatra will officially begin on July 3 from both the traditional Pahalgam route and the Baltal route, concluding on August 9, Shravan Purnima. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the pilgrims amid chants of ‘Bum Bum Bole’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’. Pilgrims expressed their excitement and devotion, with many embarking on their first pilgrimage to the holy cave of Lord Shiva. Despite rain in Jammu, the enthusiasm of the devotees remained high. The pilgrims will reach Kashmir Valley later in the day, preparing to start their journey to the shrine tomorrow.
