A Firefly Aerospace spacecraft, carrying a lunar drill and vacuum for NASA, is set to land on the Moon more than a month after its launch from Florida. This marks the first of several planned lunar landings by U.S. and Japanese companies this year. The Blue Ghost spacecraft is expected to touch down near Mare Crisium in the northeast quadrant of the Moon’s near side, as part of NASA’s CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) initiative and the Artemis program aimed at establishing a long-term lunar presence. The landing is expected around 08:30 GMT.
