Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for a three-year term. Pandey, a 1987 batch IAS officer from Odisha cadre, replaces Madhavi Puri Buch. His appointment follows his role as Finance Secretary and previous positions in the Department of Public Enterprises and Department of Investment and Public Asset Management. Pandey was instrumental in the sale of Air India and the public listing of LIC.
