The FBI has searched the Maryland home and Washington office of former National Security Advisor, John Bolton. The investigation is focused on his handling of classified information. The raids occurred a day after Bolton criticised President Donald Trump’s approach to relations with India and the imposition of punitive tariffs. In response to the raid, President Trump distanced himself from the action but directed criticism at his former aide. He stated, "I’m not a fan of John Bolton. He’s a real sort of a low-life." Trump also referred to him as "not a smart guy" and suggested he could be "a very unpatriotic" person. The investigation into Bolton’s management of classified material is ongoing.
