India Today’s team is reporting directly from Dharali, the disaster zone, providing updates from areas impacted by floods. Rescue and relief operations continue following the events of August 5th. The area is covered by 15 feet of debris, with a market and an army camp beneath it. The army removed over 150 people from Dhanari and Harsin villages in the initial days. Eight soldiers and one JCO are still unaccounted for. Many structures are no longer present. The army continues its search for the unaccounted personnel and items amidst the altered landscape.
