In a major breakthrough for security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorists were neutralized in ‘Operation Mahadev’, a joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), and CRPF. The operation took place in the dense forests of the Dachigam area. Crucially, one of the slain terrorists has been identified as Hashim Musa, the alleged mastermind behind the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22nd. Security forces, who had been tracking the terrorists for days, caught them by surprise. A BJP leader commented on the operation, stating, "it is a major success achieved by our forces in a joint anti-terror operation…The most dreaded terrorist, Suleiman, who was the mastermind behind this Pehalgam terror attack, has been neutralized." The other two terrorists are suspected to be Yasir and Hamza Haris, though official confirmation is awaited.
