He said shutting down an entire state, jailing journalists, MPs, and former Chief Ministers, and cutting off transportation, communication, and internet was wrong. He questioned whether this is acceptable in a democratic country and insisted that people should have spoken out against it. Gopinathan said he raised this issue then and still stands by it.
