Rana Daggubati appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in Hyderabad regarding the illegal betting app case. This development follows the questioning of other actors including Prakash Raj and Vijay Deverakonda. Lakshmi Manchu is also expected to be questioned by the agency. The Enforcement Directorate has registered cases against 29 celebrities, including social media influencers, in connection with alleged promotion of illegal online betting applications in Tamil Nadu. The agency alleges that these individuals endorsed online betting apps involved in generating illicit funds. Vijay Deverakonda, after his questioning, stated that the Enforcement Directorate did not have an idea or clue why his name was mentioned in this particular case. He clarified that he promoted legal online gaming applications, which are licensed and pay taxes, unlike illegal betting apps. The probe agency has taken cognizance of state police FIRs and registered cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and FEMA.
