The BJP sharpened the attack on the DMK government, with a leader stating, ‘These appointments have been made by the Chief Minister himself. So even he is in the entire area of suspicion.’ Uncovered during a separate bank fraud probe involving real estate firm TVH and a relative of DMK Minister K.N. Nehru, the ED claims candidates paid bribes of ₹25 to ₹35 lakh for government posts. The appointment letters were reportedly handed over by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on August 6 of this year. The ED has urged the Tamil Nadu police to file an FIR to initiate a full investigation, while the opposition, including the AIADMK and BJP, has demanded a CBI probe.
