Delhi: Outside the Election Commission office in Delhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a sharp attack on the poll body, questioning its neutrality and conduct. Asking whether the Election Commission would “choose the government before the election,” Banerjee said her party boycotted the meeting after being “insulted and humiliated.” She accused the Election Commissioner of behaving arrogantly, deliberately treating them badly, and misleading the public. Claiming that five official letters sent by her were not answered, Banerjee alleged that the Election Commission was doing “injustice” and spreading “lies,” while asserting that while the BJP may have power, she has “the power of the people.”
