The southwest monsoon has made an early entry into Maharashtra, causing heavy rains and waterlogging in Mumbai. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for Mumbai, with warnings extended to Thane and Palghar districts. The Mumbai Civic body (BMC) is preparing for heavy rainfall. IMD has issued an orange alert for Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and other coastal areas, while a yellow alert is in place for Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane. The monsoon is expected to fully enter Maharashtra in the next 2-3 days, earlier than the usual June arrival.
