This comes as Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal prepares to visit the US for a crucial phase of trade negotiations. Ahead of the diplomatic engagements, India has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its farmers’ interests, a priority also emphasized by Prime Minister Modi. One speaker noted, "Our farmers’ welfare will be primary to our trade negotiations and that we will never compromise with the interests of our farmers." The Union Minister’s visit follows recent "positive" talks in New Delhi between US Chief Negotiator Brendan Lynch and Indian official Rajesh Agrawal, as described by the Commerce Ministry.
