External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a detailed conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi on the latest developments regarding the ongoing West Asia conflict. The two ministers agreed to remain in touch. This marks the third telephonic conversation between the two foreign ministers since 28th February after the onset of the conflict, and the second within the last five days. The discussions come at a critical time as the West Asia conflict sees daily escalations. Around 8,000 Indians are currently in Iran, including students who have been moved from Tehran to Qom and other secure locations. India is exploring possible ways to evacuate these students. With approximately 10 million Indians living across West Asia, including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, India maintains legitimate concerns about the safety and security of its diaspora in territories affected by the conflict.
