External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar informed the Rajya Sabha that he held conversations with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on February 28 and March 5 amid the escalating conflict in West Asia. He noted that leadership-level contacts remain difficult due to the ongoing situation, but high-level talks will continue as India advocates peace, return to dialogue, diplomacy, de-escalation, restraint, and protection of civilians while prioritising the safety of Indians in the region.
