Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS in New Delhi. His mortal remains were brought to his residence on Motilal Road. Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Congress leaders paid their respects. A seven-day national mourning has been announced. The last rites will be held on Saturday at Shakti Sthal in Delhi. Dr Singh is remembered for his contributions as an economist, reformer, and parliamentarian.
