The political conflict between the DMK and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu is escalating as the state approaches elections next year. Opposition leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami has launched a campaign named ‘Urutukalum Thirtukalum’ (Lies and Deceit), accusing Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s government of failing to deliver on 528 poll promises. The AIADMK is using creative methods like a ‘spin the wheel’ game to highlight these issues. An AIADMK spokesperson stated the campaign’s goal is to "retrieve Tamil Nadu from the clutches of family." In response, the DMK attributes any unfulfilled promises to a lack of funds from the BJP-led Union government, accusing the AIADMK of hypocrisy due to its alliance with the BJP. The DMK also alleges that this alliance is a tactic to shield AIADMK leaders from central investigative agencies.
