Tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians in northern Muwasi camp are living among piles of trash and suffering from a number of diseases.
The area, which Israeli has designated a safe zone, has become greatly overcrowded in recent weeks as Israel expands its operations in the southern city of Rafah.
Amid the tents, mountains of trash are piling up beneath the summer sun. Resident say it is causing diseases.
“Because of this garbage, we take the children to the medical point every day to no avail,” said Shifa Barbakh. She went on to say that her child was suffering from hepatitis, but that she could not even afford basic food for him.
