During a performance in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh addressed the controversy over being labelled ‘anti-national’. He stated, "Many call me anti-national. But Sardars are never anti-national." Dosanjh highlighted what he sees as a discrepancy, where his film ‘Sardarji’ faced a potential ban for featuring a Pakistani actor, while India-Pakistan cricket matches proceeded after the Pahalgam attack. He clarified that his film was shot in February, before the attack, whereas the decision to play cricket in the Asia Cup was made after the incident. Dosanjh condemned the Pahalgam attack, stating that those responsible should be severely punished, but also pointed out that the film industry often becomes a ‘soft target’ in such geopolitical situations.
