A whistleblower in the Dharmasthala mass burial probe has identified alleged burial spots, claiming girls and minors were raped, killed, and buried over a 16-year period. The individual, a former sanitation worker, has shown police 13 locations along the Netravati river and in a forest area, which are not part of the official Gram Panchayat burial grounds. Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) security has been deployed to guard the marked sites, and the public has been restricted from the area pending the exhumation process. A correspondent at the location noted that if the allegations are proven after exhumation, it could emerge as "one of the biggest crimes that Karnataka has ever seen". The investigation hinges on the whistleblower’s claim that these were victims of sexual assault whose bodies he was made to bury illegally.
