In a major development in the Dharmasthala mass burial case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested the whistleblower, identified as CN Chinnaya. He has been remanded to 10 days of police custody. According to police sources, the arrest was made after inconsistencies were found in the statements and the documents he provided. Responding to the arrest, the Dharmasthala temple authorities, after a period of silence, expressed gratitude for public support. They stated that "truth always prevails" and claimed some individuals were attempting to malign their image, but the people’s trust helped the truth emerge. There have also been calls for the government to take stringent action against individuals spreading wrong information about the temple.
