He is quoted as saying, ‘I appeal to all the businesses, establishments, and contractors in the city that if there is anyone working in their organisation, who has a vote in Bihar, to give them leave for three to four days, to enable them to cast their votes.’ The move, part of a larger effort by the Siddaramaiah government to support the INDIA bloc, also included a promise to allocate a site for the Bihar Association in Bengaluru and drew criticism from the opposition BJP.
