Delhi government has launched a major campaign to combat air pollution by banning fuel for end-of-life vehicles. Starting today, petrol pumps will not provide fuel to diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years. Automated camera systems at fuelling stations will capture vehicle registration details in real-time. Traffic police have been empowered to impound vehicles or issue challans to owners of end-of-life vehicles.
