Authorities in Delhi have issued a high-level intelligence alert after inputs suggested that Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba may target key religious sites, including temples near the Red Fort and in the Chandni Chowk area.
The alert comes amid fears of an IED attack as LeT seeks to avenge the February 6 mosque blast in Islamabad, Pakistan. Officials have warned that major temples across India may also be on the group’s radar.
This follows the deadly November 2025 car explosion near the Red Fort, which killed 12 people. The National Investigation Agency has extended the investigation period and judicial custody of seven accused until March 13.
