A shocking ‘Special 26’ style robbery has been reported from Delhi’s New Friends Colony, where house helps allegedly orchestrated a fake Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid to loot an elderly couple. The gang, which included a retired army man and a serving ITBP official, entered the residence wearing police uniforms and carrying wireless handsets and a pistol. During the heist, the accused tied up the family, snatched their jewellery, and stole seven luxury watches along with cash. The robbery was interrupted when the couple’s son arrived home, causing the suspects to flee. While two female house helps have been arrested, the retired army personnel, identified as Updesh Thapa, and the ITBP official remain absconding. Delhi Police have recovered police uniforms and a weapon during the ongoing investigation. Authorities are currently scanning CCTV footage to track the remaining suspects who used fake identities to target the vulnerable family.
