A man’s death in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, initially reported as an accidental electrocution, is now being investigated as a murder. The victim, 36-year-old Karan Dev, was declared dead at a hospital on July 13. The case took a turn after the victim’s family discovered an incriminating Instagram chat between the man’s wife, Sushmita, and his cousin, which allegedly detailed a murder plot. The chat revealed a plan to mix 15 sleeping pills in the victim’s food, followed by an electric shock. A police official stated, "In this case, the deceased’s wife, Sushmita, and the deceased’s uncle’s son had a chat between the two of them, and there were some facts in which electrocution is being discussed, in which sleeping pills are being given, all these facts were mentioned. On the basis of this, we have filed a case of murder and criminal conspiracy." The wife and the victim’s cousin have been arrested, with an alleged affair cited as a potential motive. The investigation is ongoing.
