Delhi CM Rekha Gupta: 100% Water Bill Surcharge Waived | India Today News

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said her government is keeping its promises to the people. They promised an amnesty scheme for water bills, which has now been launched. Starting tomorrow, Delhi residents can visit Jal Board offices or use online services to settle their bills. Until January 31, 2026, all late payment surcharges on pending bills are fully waived. After that, a 70% waiver will continue until March 31, 2026, for domestic users. The scheme waives about Rs 11,000 crore in surcharges. Unauthorized water connections can be legalized for a penalty of Rs 1,000 for homes and Rs 5,000 for businesses. The Delhi government has also introduced an updated revenue management system.
