Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa discussed cloud seeding, a method to induce rain. He said they have all necessary permissions and have trained pilots for it. The pilots conducted a trial flight over the target area to get familiar with it, and the training has been successful over the past four days. Sirsa mentioned they are waiting for the Meteorological Department’s approval, expected in the next 2-3 days, to conduct a cloud seeding sample after blasting clouds. The process will start the day after Diwali or soon after, once the weather department gives the go-ahead. They can get a plane ready and obtain flight permission within three hours when clouds appear.
